Today Mary was a pirate, teddy bear was the first mate and doll
was lookout.
They were sailing the sea on a beautiful sunny day making
sure everyone was behaving and enjoying the lovely weather.
Mary had an idea.
Captain Mary thought the ship should be painted in bright
colours, so even when it wasn’t sunny any longer the ship was happy and bright.
“Listen up shipmates”, announced Mary. “We’re going to paint each cabin on this ship
a different color like a rainbow, to keep us all happy even when the weather is
not so nice.”
“First we need to clean the decks and get all of the dishes
from breakfast done so all the surfaces and walls are clear.”
All of the crew got to work.
The cleaning was hard work but it was finished a lot quicker with
everyone helping, soon enough they were ready to paint the ship.
First mate took to the sides of the ship; Dolly was painting
from the top of the masts.
The painting took hardly any time to dry on this lovely
sunny day.
Everyone worked all day, they were soon done.
The ship was ready. It was lovely and bright thought captain Mary.
The kitchen was a lovely calm light blue, the dining room
was orange, the deck was yellow and the captain’s quarters had been transformed
with purple.
“Oh No, the sails, we need some new sail’s!” Exclaimed Captain Mary and with that the crew
all started to search for some material to make some new sails.
Teddy found an old pair of curtains while dolly found some
old bed sheets.
They took all the material to the captain.
“That’s perfect,” announced Captain Mary.
Mary asked mum if she could help and sew some new sail’s for
the ship.
Mum quickly got to work making beautiful patchwork sail’s.
“Wow, that’s
brilliant crew, I hope you like our new rainbow ship,” announced Captain Mary.
“I think all you hungry sailors could use some lunch,
“advised mum.
“Yes please,” commanded Captain Mary with a smile as she
took teddy and dolly down to the kitchen to enjoy some well earned pirate
lunch.
“Maybe after lunch you could draw a picture of your new rainbow
pirate ship to hang in the captain’s quarters,” suggested mum.
“That sounds like a great idea” agreed Captain Mary.
Captain Mary drew all afternoon.
The picture was finished; Captain Mary took it to teddy and
dolly so they could have the first look.
Mary thought they both liked it too.
Next she took it to show mum.
“Oh my goodness that’s a fantastic picture, how about we
hang it up on your bedroom wall so even when it’s not sunny outside your rainbow
pirate ship will always be nice and bright.”
“I like the sound of that idea” advised Mary with a giant
smile.
That night captain Mary went to sleep thinking of all the
new adventures she could get up to on the bright new pirate ship.
